Pendet Dance from Bali IndonesiaINDONESIAN ART CULTURE - Pendet was originally a dance that many exhibited worship in temples, places of worship of Hindus in Bali, Indonesia. This dance symbolizes the descent of the gods to the reception on the natural world. Gradually, over the times, the artists transform Pendet be "welcome message", but still contains elements that sacred-religious. Creator / choreographer of modern dance form is I Wayan Rindi.

This type of reception dance performed by a group of young women who each bring a silver bowl containing colorful flowers. And at the end of the dance, the dancers sprinkled flowers they bring into the audience or guests are welcomed, as a welcome greeting.

At first, Pendet used as a complement piodalan ceremony in pretended family or holy place, as a symbol of gratitude, respect, and joy in welcoming the presence of the gods coming down from the heavenly.
