Karapan Sapi a Cow Racing in Madura Island

INDONESIAN TRADITIONS - Karapan Sapi is the term given to the cow racing race comes from the island of Madura, East Java. In this race, a pair of cow train interesting sort of wood (a jockey standing and controlling the cow pairs) driven at a speed race race against couples of other cows. The race track is usually about 100 meters race and the race can take about ten seconds to one minute. Some cities in Madura cattle races held in August and September of each year, with the final at the end of September or October in the former City of residency, Pamekasan to fight President Cup.

KarapanSapi implementation is divided into four rounds, namely: the first half, whole cow pitted speed in two pairs to separate groups of winning and losing groups. At this stage all the cows are winners and losers can compete again in accordance with the group.



The second round or round re-election, the couple cows in the group will be competed to win back, as well as with the cows in the group lost, and at this stage all pairs of groups of winners and losers should not compete again unless some pairs of cows that memempati victory sequence top in each group.

Third round or semi-finals, at this stage win each cow in each group pitted again to determine the winner of the three pairs of cows and three cows from the group lost. In the fourth round or final round, was held to determine the champion I, II, and III of the group lost.
