Way Kambas National Park a Elephant Sanctuary Located in Lampung

INDONESIAN ANIMALS TOURISM - Way Kambas National Park is a national park elephant sanctuary located in Lampung precisely in the District Labuhan Ratu, East Lampung, Indonesia. Besides in Way Kambas, schools elephant (Elephant Training Center) can also be found in Minas, Riau. Sumatran elephant (Elephas maximus sumatranus) who live in this region is increasingly reduced in number. Way Kambas National Park was established in 1985 is the first elephant school in Indonesia. With the beginning of the name Elephant Training Center


 
(PLG), but since the last few years this name was changed to the Elephant Conservation Centre is expected to be the elephant conservation center (PKG) in taming, training, breeding and conservation. Until now PKG has trained about 300 elephants that have been distributed to all over the country. In Way Kambas also artifacts International Rhino Foundation in charge of maintaining the rhino species that are not endangered.


 
In Way Kambas National Park, there are endangered animals including Rhino Sumatra, Sumatran elephant, Sumatran tiger, Mentor Rimba, False gharial. For many plants found Api-Api, Pidada, Nipah, pandan. On the Way Kambas National Park coastal swampy also often found various species of birds.
